Hi all,
next Monday the former group member Henrik Wilming will give the theory colloquium (https://theorycolloquium.phys.ethz.ch/) so the seminar will be next Wednesday at 14:00 in HIT K52. Then Anqi Gong will talk about “Computation with Quantum Reed-Muller Codes and their Mapping onto 2D Atom Arrays”, see below for the abstract.

Title:
Computation with Quantum Reed-Muller Codes and their Mapping onto 2D Atom Arrays
Abstract:
The Steane [[7,1,3]] and the [[15,1,3]] codes are two small instances of punctured quantum Reed-Muller (PQRM) codes admitting transversal (CNOT, H, S) and (CNOT, T) gates, respectively. We generalize them to higher distance PQRM codes, namely [[127,1,15]] and [[127,1,7]]. To enable a universal fault-tolerant computation protocol with them, we are left to solve the following two questions. (1) How to switch between the two codes fault-tolerantly. (2) How to fault-tolerantly prepare the logical states. We show that (1) can be realized through Steane error correction and give a solution for (2) based on automorphism-permuted verification. Our presented solutions are tailored to the neutral atom platform and give superior numerical performance under extended rectangle analysis
