Januar 2012, 13:30h > > Location: HIT E 41.1 > > Speaker: Matthieu Delbecq, Laboratoire Pierre Aigrain, Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris, France > > Title: Coupling a quantum dot, fermionic leads and a microwave cavity on-chip > > Abstract: > The recent development of circuit quantum electrodynamics has brought the possibility to study the interactions between light and matter with superconducting circuits. This ‘‘circuit > quantum electrodynamics’’ architecture allows one, at least in principle, to combine circuits with an arbitrary complexity. > > We present a first step towards the use of quantum dots in a circuit QED context [1,2]. We demonstrate a hybrid architecture using single wall carbon nanotube based QD inserted in a superconducting microwave cavity [1]. > At low temperature, this QD behaves as a tunable artificial atom where various transport regimes are observable, and especially the Kondo effect. Simultaneously to the low frequency transport spectroscopy, > we study the response of the microwave cavity when the dot is in the Coulomb blockade and Kondo regimes.
