Hi all,
Tomorrow Simon Kropf will tell us about his master thesis with Ramona Wolf entitled "Security of Coherent One Way QKD". See below for the abstract. The talk will take place at 2pm in HIT E 41.1
Title: Security of Coherent One Way QKD
Abstract: An experimentally robust implementation of a quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol is given by the coherent one way (COW) protocol. Nonetheless, its general security has not been shown yet. Due to the interactions between the key bit rounds, they cannot be separated, and typical methods of security proofs fail to be applicable. We present a first security proof of COW without assuming modifications which transform the protocol into an IID structure, as it was typically assumed in previous work. Although, our proof via the generalized entropy accumulation theorem (GEAT) will force us to introduce some modifications to COW.
