The Bose-Marletto-Vedral proposal in different frames of reference and the quantum nature of gravity
Abstract:
Observing spatial entanglement in the Bose-Marletto-Vedral (BMV) experiment would demonstrate the existence of non-classical properties of the gravitational field. We show that the special relativistic invariance of the linear regime of general relativity implies that all the components of the gravitational potential must be non-classical. This is simply necessary in order to describe the BMV entanglement consistently across different inertial frames of reference. On the other hand, we show that the entanglement in accelerated frames could differ from that in stationary frames.

Bridging Quantum Error Correction, Gauge Theory Quantisation and Quantum Reference Frames
Abstract:
By encoding logical data in the entanglement structure of a larger set of physical qubits, quantum error correction (QEC) paves the way for fault-tolerant quantum computing. Lately, ideas from QEC have also found applications in other areas of theoretical physics, e.g. as toy models for holography. In this talk, I will connect concepts in the stabilizer formalism of QEC with the Dirac quantization of gauge theories as well as quantum reference frames (QRFs). The latter connection will be made explicit by interpreting the code subspace in a system of physical qubits as a perspective-neutral structure as introduced for QRFs. Lastly, I will provide perspectives on the future developments and potential applications arising from these connections.
