Title: Decoupling Theorems
Abstract: The talk presents various decoupling results derived during my master project. Decoupling theorems have proven useful in versatile applications in the area of quantum information theory. At first we address the question whether or not a typical physical process ocurring on one share of a bipartite quantum system destroys the quantum mechanical correlations between the different subsystems. The crucial mathemathical concept for this application will be the one of "unitary almost 2-designs" and we analyze the decoupling behaviour of these constructs. In the second part of the talk we discuss whether decoupling of quantum states is possible with classical operations, which has applications in the area of quantum coding. _______________________________________________________________
