Dear all, Vlatko Vedral (www.vlatkovedral.org) is visiting us 10-20 Dec. On Tuesday 16 Dec, at 11am he will tell us about "Thermodynamical entanglement witnesses". Talk: Quantum Conditional Entropies

Hi All, The next talk will be on Tuesday 17:00 at HIT K51. I will talk about quantum conditional entropies (min- and max-entropies) and their operational meaning. In that context, I will also discuss our recent paper "A Fully Quantum Asymptotic Equipartition Property " (arXiv:0811.1221). The talk is introductory and should be accessible to all of you. Hi all, Next week we have a visitor, Tyko Strassen, replacing the usual talk. He is speaking about "Das Halteproblem und der Gödelsche Unvollständigkeitssatz" um 17 Uhr im IFW D42. Hi, The next talk will take place 5 pm at IFW D42. Abstract: There is an aspect of QM that generalized non-signaling models have failed to reproduce until now, namely its dynamics; in particular, the ability to perform joint measurements on two systems. A recent paper http://arxiv.org/abs/0811.2937 has proposed a restricted PR-box model featuring rich dynamics, such as non-locality swapping, the analogue of entanglement swapping, and teleportation. The talk will give a basic introduction into the new concept and explain how it allows for non-locality swapping with non-signaling systems. Best regards. Manuel
