Tomorrow's talk will be in the Pauli Room in HPZ at 17:00. I will give
an introduction to Kitaev's toric code for error correction, explaining
why it is especially resilient to noise. I will then explain the
concept of self-correction, where we have recently shown that all
stabilizer codes defined on a 2D torus are not self-correcting.
