Microsoft Security Bulletin July 2004

[1]Microsoft has released the [2]Security Bulletin Summary for July
2004. It is a real big bulletin with 2 crtitical, 4 important and 1
moderate problem. While writing this article, not all information is
yet available.
Run [3]Windows Update (with Internet Explorer) on all the Windows
Workstations and Servers to install the Security Updates.

New IP ranges

Since monday, there is a new range of IP numbers used in ETHZ. To
realize [1]NETng, [2]RIPE allocated new space to ETHZ. Read on in case
you are operating a small server with filters or access control based
on IP numbers.

No power outage

We [1]announced some DHCP problems as a result of a power outage of
the building HCI on July 8. This maintenance is cancelled and we see
no problems during this day. So there is no excuse to stay at home :-)
