------------------------------------------------------------------------ Second crash file server foostock http://nic.phys.ethz.ch/news/1146206583 At around 03:15 this morning our fileserver foostock, which holds all the home and group directories, crashed again without any reason. After a manual reset (which had to be done in the data center), the server is back online since 08:10. The background filesystem check is still running, so performance will be degraded for some more hours. April between 07:00 and 07:15 [1]ID Kommunikation will change some parts of the switches for the servers in the HCI data center. This will give an interruption of about 10 minutes. From [2]our servers, only the DHCP server for the old (not yet migrated to NETng) networks is affected. But this will only affect you, if you power on or restart a computer during this maintenance timeframe. All other servers of the Department of Physics are located in an other data center which will not be affected from this maintenance.
