There are 6 critical, 1 important, 2 moderate and 1 low update. If Automatic Update is not activated yet, then you must visit [3]Microsoft Update to install the Security Updates. Also updates for MS Office are available, see Office Update at [4]Office Online. The update [5]MS06-057 fix the problem described in the [6]Avoid Active-X in Microsoft Internet Explorer posting. The updates [7]MS06-058 and [8]MS06-060 for MS Office also close some to the public already know critical problems which could allow to execute malicious programm code. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Avoid Active-X in Microsoft Internet Explorer http://nic.phys.ethz.ch/news/1159794731 According to several security information sources there is an exploit around for the [1]Vulnerability in Windows Shell Could Allow Remote Code Execution which is already in heavy use on several web sites. It will install spyware, rootkits and keyloggers. The problem exists in the Active-X component of Microsoft Internet Explorer. So either disable Active-X or switch to an other browser like [2]Firefox.
