DNS and network outages

On Wednesday evening from 21:30 to 22:20 the ETH DNS servers failed,
which caused major problems on our Network and for [1]our services.
Then on Thursday afternoon at 14:40 a router in the IFW building
failed, which cause sporadic outages on the whole ETH network until
around 18:30, when the [2]ID/Kommunikation finished changing the
software on the routers.
We would like to apologise for this outage.

Network maintenance Tuesday, 31. May

On Tuesday, 31. May the network infrastructure will get a software
upgrade by the [1]ID/Kommunikation. Between 07:00am and 07:30am in the
morning there will be a short interuption of the network connectivity
for about 5 minutes.

Outage file server sardona

This morning around 12:05 [1]sardona, our file server which holds all
the [2]home directories, rebooted again without an apparent reason.
The following file system check took around 45 minutes and the file
server was back online at 12:50.
We would like to apologise for this outage.
