Inconsistent results in different ALPS installs

Dear all, we used ALPS to determine the energy of a linear AF spin chain with DM on two different computer, both running Linux, which required us to build ALPS with the provided scripts. We have used the same parameter and model used, and compared the methods exact diagonalization and DMRG. While the diagonalization results are the same up to at least the 10th digit, the DMRG result on one computer differs from all others by about 0.3%. My question is, whether there exists an option to check the validity of the ALPS installation and which results are reliable. Thank you very much and best wishes, Johannes

problem compiling alps-2.2.b4

In the past I had no problems with compiling alps from source. Recently I tried to compile it on Fedora 24 and failed. I noticed that the source does not like boost 1.6 from Fedora, used native 1.58 from alps. spinmc and dmrg - command not found

Hello, I tried running the tutorials provided and I have similar problems as with this post: https://lists.phys.ethz.ch/pipermail/comp-phys-alps-users/2013/002160.html but I did not know how it was resolved in the end of the thread. one instance shows: dmrg parm_spin_one_half.in.xml --write-xml /bin/sh: dmrg: command not found and the other shows: spinmc parm1.in.xml --Tmin 5 --write-xml /bin/sh: spinmc: command not found Thank you for your continued assistance. twist boundary conditions

Build error for alps-2.2.b4 on ubuntu 16.04

Dear All, I'm attempting to build alps on an ubuntu 16.04 machine (xubuntu 16.04 LTS). Help with VisTrails installation

Hello, I just started with ALPS and the Fedora OS. I am using a machine with Fedora 21 OS and I think I managed to build ALPS from alps-2.2.b4-src-with-boost.tar.gz <http://alps.comp-phys.org/static/software/releases/alps-2.2.b4-src-with-boo…>. Following the installation instructions in the website, I am now in the "Building Vistrails and ALPS visrails package from source on Linux" section. I suppose that visrails is independent of ALPS. I installed the required packages for vistrails. I untar-ed vistrails-src-2.2.4-1519abc0ae2b.tar.gz <http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/vistrails/vistrails/v2.2.4/vistrai…> and did the last step shown in the vistrails webste: [resperanza@obiwan ~]$ cd /home/sand/resperanza/Downloads/vistrails-src-2.2.4-1519abc0ae2b/vistrails [resperanza@obiwan vistrails]$ python vistrails.py python: can't open file 'vistrails.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory and the error shows.
