Dear ALPS users, ALPS 2.0.1 has been released. This is the version included with the ALPS paper: B. Bauer et al., J. Stat. Mech. (2011) P05001, which is available at : http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/1742-5468/2011/05/P05001 .Besides references to this paper, this release contains many minor bug fixes. The MacOS X 10.5 binary release will be uploaded shortly. The others are ready for download. Best regards Matthias Troyer

Vector average

Hi all I was wondering how can I extract a single part of a vector average, for example a single value from the Structure Factor. I am looking along the lines of how would I write the xml file to get the results out. Below I have a simple plot file for Magnetization. How could I change it to get out one part of a vector average, such as from the structure factor? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <plot name="Magnetization Density"> <legend show="true"/> <xaxis label="chemical potential" type="PARAMETER" name="mu"/> <yaxis label="Magnetization Density" type="SCALAR_AVERAGE"/> <set label="2D triangular lattice"/> </plot> In advance thank you for the help. ALPS2.0 problem about the usage of CPU

Dear all, I've installed ALPS2.0 on a 12-core Linux Server Computer. When running programs using DMRG, one program usually uses more than one CPU, e.g., even 390% CPU. I'd like to know if there're some places we should pay attention to in the installation or the using process. I doubt whether the ALPS2.0 version has applied the Parallel Programming Algorithm. Does the usage of 390% CPU mean the speeding up of the computation? What I have to do if I'd like one DMRG program uses just one CPU? Yours sincerely, L. H. Pan

Dear all, We prepared a beta release for ALPS 2.0.2, with a few changes such as - a number of bug fixes - a faster DMRG code - support for MacOS X Lion The beta version is posted on the ALPS web page. We plan to release 2.0.2 once we get some feedback. 2.0.2 will also be the version to be used in an upcoming alpha version of VisTrails 2.0 Matthias
