Some questions about ALPS

After I installed a new linux system(RedHat_Enterprise_Linux_AS3 ), I have gcc 3.2.3 and libxslt 1.0.33. Then I installed icc and iff(10.1) and downloaded boost(1.34.1), alps(1.3) ,alps-applications(1.3), lp_solve(4.0) to /root/src/. After unzipped them, I have installed ALPS and alps-applications to my computer. But in these processes, I met some errors. There are some JPG-pictures about configure informations and errors in the attach files. And now when I use parameter2xml to convert task.txt to task.xml, I met error just like alps_para2xml_error.JPG. If I use the job.in.xml and parm.task1.in.xml of ALPS website, I also do not know how to use the alps-applications to get the result(HowToRun_alps.JPG). Thank you very much. 2008-03-13 dulei

Questions about install ALPS 1.3

I am a beginner about ALPS and linux. When installing the ALPS in a PC, I meet some question. Now, my operation system is RedHat_Enterprise_Linux_AS3, gcc 3.2.3-34, icc 10.1, Boost C++ 1.33.1. When I installed Boost C++, I use "./configure --prefix=/usr/local/" "make install", and Boost install is completed. Then I install ALPS 1.3, I use "./configure", I met some errors about "configure: error: Boost include files not found" But when i use "./configure --with-boost=/usr/local/", I met errors about "configure: error: Boost main tree not found". When I installed Boost C++ 1.34.1, the same problems is occured. Please help me, Thanks a lot. 2008-03-06 dulei

classical monte carlo including more than first neighbor interaction

Dear ALPS community, is it possible to include more than nearest neighbor exchange in the classical Monte Carlo simulation within the Heisenberg model? For example the first 10 interactions (J11, J12, J13...) e.g. for an bcc bulk lattice? I suggest that this would exclude the possibility of cluster updates? INSTALLING & RUNNING ALPS

To ANYone who can help I have downloaded the ALPS Libraries and applications into my system which is a Pentium IV Windows XP but it cannot run. Dear alps users, the problem related to extractxmgr on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon has been solved after installation of the following packages : • libxalan110 (1.10-3.1) • libxerces27 (2.7.0-3) • xalan (1.10-3.1) • expat (1.95.8-4ubuntu1) and a slight modification of one of our personal scripts.
