Hi All, I have asked this question earlier, how I can change the code for measuring advanced correlation functions? I mean I must refer to what file to modify ? Thanks, zhian. Hello everybody, I asked some time ago, but I got no reply. When do you plan to release the first beta of ALPS 1.4 ? Is there any hope to see it by this summer ? Can alps can calculate the current correlation function for the fermionic hubbard model model for say two site. I have been using alps to calculate cahrge coorelation function the charge correlation function is < n_i n_j > = < c_i^+ c_i c_i^+ c_i > where as the current correlation function is < j_i j_j > = < c_i^+ c_j c_k^+ c_l > see the changing indexes. Kondo lattice in ALPS

Hello all, I got 2 questions for the Kondo lattice in the ALPS. The Hamiltonian in the models.xml for Kondo lattice reads -t*fermion_hop(i,j) + J*exchange(i,j) 1. Does the code only work at half-filling? 2. The second term in the Hamiltonian does not look like the original one, namely, the original Hamiltonian of the Kondo model contains a term \sum_{i} s_i \cdot S_i, here the s (S) are the spin of the conducting (local) electrons. Dear all, I would like to study one-site and two-sites correlation functions in certain variants of the 1D Hubbard model. I have tried to compute the local densities (total, up and down) in a small Hubbard chain (10 sites) with open boundary conditions, so that the one-point observables are non-trivial. However, all the local observables return the value 0. The same happens if I try to compute the correlation cdag_up:c_up (or down). the basis vectors are written by the convention that the down spin are written first according to formula | basis state > = Multiply(i=1 to i=N) ( for_spin_up ) cDag[i,Up_spin] Multiply(i=1 to i=N) ( for_spin_down ) cDag[i,Down_spin] | 0 > Now for two site system half filling 1 up spin and 1 down spin the basis are | basis 1 > = cDag[ 1, up ] cDag[ 2, down ] |0 > | basis 2 > = cDag[ 2, up ] cDag[ 1, down ] |0 > (* Now position cahanged as down spin is first according to convention *) | basis 3 > = cDag[ 1, up ] cDag[ 1, down ] |0 > | basis 4 > = cDag[ 2, up ] cDag[ 2, down ] |0 > Now when we analyticaaly solve for hubbard hamiltonian we get the matrix ((0,0,-t,-t),(0,0,-t,-t),(-t,-t,U,0),(-t,-t,0.U)) but alps give the matrix ((0,1,-1,0),(1,0,0,1),(-1,0,0,-1),(0,1,-1,0)) the matrices are equivalent as long as their eigen values are same. from which we can have eigen values and eigen vectors I want from alps to have basis vectors with this convention. what I see from naked eye if one of the basis vector get a minus sign then the hamiltonian are equivalent. I want the alps to generate basis states according to this convention down spin first and then compute the hamiltonian matrix, otherwise I think program is very powerful. There is any way that we give our basis to the program to compute hamiltonian matrix. best regards Khalid Loane
