Hello,
I have been trying to install alps in cygwin, but I'm afraid that the directions don't seem to be working very well for me. I know that most people use a server install, but I would like to use ALPS in Windows. I have attached the config log installing the libraries. I installed version 1.2.2. There appears to be an error: 'XDR' does not name a type. I tried doing the rest of the install, but nothing really seemed to work. Also, the installation instructions are not very clear - at least for someone who isn't very experienced with cygwin. I had to change parts of it to get things to work at all. The biggest discrepancies are with the directory file names which don't seem to be very consistent. Anyway, I would really like to use ALPS for to do more DMRG because I have been writing my own DMRG code so far. Thank you so much for any help you can offer.
Sincerely, Justin
Hi,
ALPS 1.3 can be installed under Cygwin but not 1.2.2
