Dear all users, This question have confused me for a long time: Last week, I reinstall the new version Linux OS (Ubuntu 8.10),in which gcc package does not include the g77 compiler. I also tried to install but failed. Do I compile the library without the support of fortran 77,but with the support the gfortran or intel fortran? If yes, how should I do? Best wishes! Thank you for your attention to my question!

ALPS code is written in C++, so that you do not need g77 compiler to install ALPS library.
both g++ 4.x and Intel compiler are supported.
