Hi,all I check the tutorials of TEBD, in which it says:" Also, please note that the present implementation of TEBD in ALPS ignores any information about the lattice and uses an open chain lattice of length L." Does this mean the ALPS TEBD will not work for 1D Kondo lattice? ('cause in Kondo lattice model, there shall be two types of vertices in the open chain lattice.) Is there really no way out for the dynamics of 1D multi-component fermion system like Kondo lattice model in ALPS ??? Bo-Nan -- Stay foolish,Stay hungry.

dynamics of 1D fermion system

Hi, all I want to study the dynamics of 1D fermion-Hubbard system, for example, say the time evolution of spin imbalance. It is a chain lattice , the length L of which is no larger than 10. But I am not sure which part of ALPS should I use. Can any one who has deal with the dynamics of a quantum system using ALPS give me some advice? Any advice is welcome. ps: As for my last post, I have solved the question of exact diagonalization of Kondo lattice, it is my mistake. Best, Bo-Nan SIOM, C.A.S. Question about the spin-orbit coupling term

Dear all, I am trying to add the spin-orbit coupling term to the 1D Hubbard model. Kondo lattice with L=2 in ED

Hi, users and developers As you can see, I am working on Kondo lattice with ALPS. I find something strange: I calculate the situation: A L=2 Kondo lattice with 2 spin and 1 fermion, t=10,J=2, the ALPS sparsediag shows the ground energy is around -20. And it is obvious that such a simple situation can be solved exactly with bare hand, but the result I find out with my pencil is only -11, also with the different number of energy levels from ALPS. I am quite confident in the -11 result supported by the SU(2) and parity symmetry, besides other results of my pencil calculation (not shown here) are consistent with the published papers,too. Can you guys tell me why this happens ? An error of ALPS or I use it in a wrong way? ps: Even I turn the TRANSLATION_SYMMETRY=false, the spin correlation results are all zero with is not only contradict with my pencil result, but also with the ALPS DMRG result. How can I fix it??? Any advice is welcome!!!!! Hi, all With kind help of Matthias, I finally compile all functions of ALPS2.1.1 and install it on my Ubuntu 10.02 Lucid. And in my system, it is python 2.6.5, and no VisTrails or ALPS vistrails extensions installed. Error of compiling tebd when build ALPS on Ubuntu 10.04

Hi, all I come up with this error while building ALPS on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Before compiling, I install all libraries and tools following the ALPS website. but when I run sudo make, the following error happens: Linking Fortran executable tebd CMakeFiles/tebd.dir/tebd.f90.o: In function `MAIN__': tebd.f90:(.text+0x962): undefined reference to `omp_get_num_procs_' tebd.f90:(.text+0xa48): undefined reference to `omp_set_num_threads_' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[2]: *** [applications/dmrg/tebd/tebd] Error 1 make[1]: *** [applications/dmrg/tebd/CMakeFiles/tebd.dir/all] Error 2 make: *** [all] Error 2 I do not know what's going on. Dear all, I work on magnetic spinel structures of the form AB2O4 (i.e MnFe2O4) . I encounter problems defining the lattice in the lattice.xml input file due to the complexity of the system. I wonder if there is someone else working in the same project and can share the lattice description. I think archlinux is a good choice. Arch is much more stable than ubuntu, at least in my opinion. And arch has the most powerful wiki than all of the other distribution. If you install yaourt, you could easily compile ALPS with the simple command: yaourt alps.
