Density-density correlator in Interaction expansion

Hi I am using interaction expansion to solve a lattice problem using DMFT. I want to find the dynamic density-density correlators as well. How can it be done within interaction expansion scheme. While the same can be done turning the corresponding flag on for hybridization-expansion scheme, and I have used it vigorously. debugging alps

Dear All, I would like to ask for some practical tips how to effectively debug alps applications: Is there a way how to build alps with debug flags switched on?. I would appreciate an ability to use a debugger such as gdb to debug the alps applications code. Does the debugging logic depend heavily on a particular alps application (meaning is debugging modifications of mps_optim moreless equivalent to debugging dwa code)? Can this debug mode be turned on using the cmake flags? Best, Mateusz Łącki

Installing Alps Mps On Windows

Thanks for having me on the list. I am new to the Alps Project. I have installed the 32-bit Windows version of ALPS 2.3b and Vistrails using binary installer. However, I have a problem running applications using python scripts as the interpreter does not recognise the imported Alps packages, e.g. pyalps. What do I do to fix this? Secondly, how do I instal new packages, particularly Alps Mps, to an existing Alps installation in the absence of a binary installer? Kindly help. Dear All, I wish to report a suboptimal behaviour in the mps_optim: setting the initial state with wrong L (L=10 and there are 12 spins defined) L=10; init_state="local_quantumnumbers" initial_local_S="0.5,0.5,0.5,0.5,0.5,0.5,0.5,0.5,0.5,0.5,0.5,0.5" initial_local_Sz="0.5,-0.5,0.5,0.5,-0.5,0.5,-0.5,-0.5,0.5,-0.5,0.5,0.5” produces a nasty segfault with no warning (in almost all other cases of setting something wrong a message explaining a nature of the problem is printed). The questions on alps project

Dear ~~~ Recently I prepare use DMRG to perform calculations. And I find alps a very useful tool, but I have the following questions about its use: 1, How to define the model. I search the webpage of alps and don't find the materials. I study a ladder with nearest neighbor and next nearest neighbor hoppings. How do I define the lattice and how do I give the parameters? 2, I will calculate the physical quantity as a function of a parameter. How to do this? 3, I want to calculate some physical quantities, such as the n(k) (particle distribution in the momentum space), the current on a bond. How do I do these calculations? Hi Matthias Thanks for your reply. Would it be wise then to upgrade the OS of the machine to 14.04 (now it is only 12.04 Ubuntu) which will automatically ask for compiler repositories more updated ? In the case I would guess that the boost version for C/C++ would have to be something more updated to be compatible with the updated compilers (say boost_1_55_0 or beyond, which is now only boost_1_54_0)? My machine was however, a DellR730. Alps build problem

Hi All I am installing ALPS on my Server with 64 bit processor arcitecture and the version I using is alps-2.2.b3-r7462-src-with-boost.tar.gz <http://alps.comp-phys.org/static/software/releases/alps-2.2.b3-r7462-src-wi…> . And I am encountering this error each time I try installing it. The last part of my error information is given below. Please suggest. Hello, I am having some problem with importing the pyalps modules. I am not able to find the pyalps modules required. I am using ubuntu 14.04. For installing the ALPS, I followed the instructions on website and installed ALPS from the source. I did not face any problems with installation. In my CMakeCache.txt I found ALPS_BUILD_PYTHON:BOOL=ON which I guess should install the python modules. I have a directory pyalps in build_dir/lib/ however I did not find any pyalps.py which would load the python module upon the command "import pyalps". Please let me know where I could find the pyalps modules or any relevant changes in the installation procedure. Thank You very much for your help, With Best Regards, Noore Elahi Shaik.
