Spin configurations in 3D Heisenberg model

Dear ALPS users, I am trying to understand the generation of spin configurations for a 3D classical Heisenberg model in the ALPS spinmc simualtions. In this regard, I am interested to know that the spin configurations in ALPS for 3D systems are parametrized in the cylindrical or spherical coordinate system. get stuck in building alps

Previously, I had "Installed required packages using Synaptic package manager". For libbost-all-dev, Synaptic manager, installed boost, version 1_55. Dear Michele, Thanks for your help. I installed the latest trunk version 7593 (I had 7592). Sorry for my stupid mistake, I changed of course to "inhomogeneous chain lattice". sparsediag and fulldiag are working. Dear all users and developers, I was building and installing ALPS in my loptop. I have done each process step by step. mps_optim for inhomogeneous Bose-Hubbard

Dear all, I try to use mps_optim for the 1D Bose-Hubbard model in the presence of a trapping potential. I use the latest SVN version (from last week), the latticel model "inhomogeneous chain lattice" and a homemade model "harm boson Hubbard" with the site term: -mu#*n(i)+U#*n(i)*(n(i)-1)/2+K#*n(i)*(x-0.5*(L-1))^2 which differs simply from the usual Bose-Hubbard model by the addition of the last term K#*n(i)*(x-0.5*(L-1))^2. Such a model works with the worm QMC algorithm, but fails with mps_optim with the error message: Exception thrown: Cannot evaluate x I tried to replace "x" by "i" without success. How should I proceed to have mps_optim work for an inhomogeneous system? More generally, I find it always **VERY** difficult to obtain the information on what should work for a specific algorithm/model in ALPS and what should not work. The only solution I found is trial and error, which is a bit frustrating. Thanks in advance for your answer(s). follow up to problems with dwa

Dear all, As another example of using dwa-algorithm I tried to run 3D case in trap. Worm manages fine. Dwa gives error message "Cannot evaluate y" What I am doing wrong? Is the failure of dwa due to an additional power 2 (since "dwa" in polish means "two")? worm versus dwa

Dear All, I use worm with a harmonic trap defined in a standard version as in ALPS2.0 paper with the following addition in <SITETERM> (for 2D vesion) K#*n(i)*((x-(L-1)/2)^2+(y-(L-1)/2)^2) works perfectly. I tried dwa getting the error message: cannot evaluate y Trying the one dimensional version with just K#*n(i)*(x-(L-1)/2)^2 works for both worm and dwa. any idea why 2D harmonic trap cannot be used with dwa?
