Inconsistent comment in generate_spline_matrix in the DMFT folder

Hi, The function generate_spline_matrix in fouriertransform.C in the dmft folder shows the comments as follows: // A is the matrix whose inverse defines spline_matrix // // 6 6 // 1 4 1 // 1 4 1 // A = ... // // 1 4 1 // -2 0 0 2 However, the following codes, dense_matrix A = 4*dt/6.*boost::numeric::ublas::identity_matrix<double>(Np1); for (int i=1; i<Np1-1; i++) { A(i,i-1) = dt/6.; A(i,i+1) = dt/6.; } A(0,0) = 1.; A(0, Np1-1) = 1.; A(Np1-1, 0) = -2.*dt/6.; A(Np1-1, 1) = -1.*dt/6.; A(Np1-1, Np1-2) = 1*dt/6.; A(Np1-1, Np1-1) = 2*dt/6.; the red lines will make the matrix looks like // 6 6 // 1 4 1 // 1 4 1 // A = ... // // 1 4 1 // -2 *-1* *1* 2 Is the comment correct or the code correct? New model not adapted in TEBD

Dear ALPS developers, I have constructed a new model of 1-D interaction fermionic system with disorder and this model works perfectly fun in spectrum function and Lanczos methods. And now I am trying to do the exact solution of time evolution, but it reports "Hamiltonian " type not recognized! use 'Spin'...(whatever exists in models.xml before). Does anyone know how to fix it! Good day!

Transversal Heisenberg XXZ

Dear all, I would like to use the ALPS dmrg routines to simulate the transversal spin-1/2 XXZ Heisenberg model, i.e., with magnetic field in X-direction. While a magnetic field in Z-direction [Hz = B*Sz(i)] poses no problems, a magnetic field in X-direction [Hx = B*(Splus(i) + Sminus(i))] destroys convergence completely. I am aware that Hx violates Sz-conservation, but XXZ+Hz is easily solved by the dmrg package even without assuming conserved quantum numbers, so I guess conserved quantum numbers are probably not an issue for the small systems I'm considering (32 sites). Is the bad convergence in the Hx case something which is expected or do you rather suspect an error in my configuration? Thanks a lot! Meaning of parameter "SPINFLIP"

Dear ALPS developers, I was wondering about the meaning of the parameter SPINFLIP for the CT-HYB impurity solver. The documentation mentions: SPINFLIP={0,1} specifies whether to perform spin flip updates. In such an update a segment is moved from one orbital to another, if the latter is empty. Does this correspond to a global move that flips all spins, i.e. for enforcing a paramagnetic solution or does it correspond to the part of the rotationally invariant Hund's coupling which is called Spin-Flip term? If it's the first one, are there any plans that Spin-Flip/Pair-Hopping terms can be treated within the CT-HYB solver in the near future? best regards, Steffen

Hello, I am a physics student in the US who has developed an interest in strongly correlated electrons as well as C++, and would love to try what ALPS has to offer. Unfortunately, I have a rather dumb question to ask regarding installation. Where should I use make when building it from source? I use a Ubuntu system, so I can't do it via binary source. Unable to run the hybridization tutorial scripts; cthyb and boost.mpi not found

Hello, Recently I found that an implementation of the continuous-time QMC hybridization scheme (CT-HYB) has been included in the ALPS library and I'd like to learn how it works, so I installed the binary packages of alps 2.2.0b3, vistrails 2.1.2 and alps-vistrails-2.2.0b3 on Mac OS X 10.10.3. I've tested a few tutorials to make sure the installation was complete. However, tutorial1.py in the hybridization tutorial told me that it couldn't find the cthyb module, and tutorial2~4 told me it couldn't find both boost.mpi and cthyb. Is it because the v2.2.0b3 binary package does not have them compiled and I have to rebuild the library from the source code? (I don't have MPI or Open MPI installed on my Mac, by the way. Does it matter?) Moreover, I tried to follow the instruction in doc/hybdoc.pdf to run hybridization from scratch, but there's a file "delta.dat" containing hybridization functions which I don't know how to produce. Did I miss something in the tutorial? Thank you. ps. I'm aware that CT-HYB is implemented as an impurity solver for the DMFT applications.
