Inconsistent comment in generate_spline_matrix in the DMFT folder

Hi, The function generate_spline_matrix in fouriertransform.C in the dmft folder shows the comments as follows: // A is the matrix whose inverse defines spline_matrix // // 6 6 // 1 4 1 // 1 4 1 // A = ... // // 1 4 1 // -2 0 0 2 However, the following codes, dense_matrix A = 4*dt/6.*boost::numeric::ublas::identity_matrix<double>(Np1); for (int i=1; i<Np1-1; i++) { A(i,i-1) = dt/6.; A(i,i+1) = dt/6.; } A(0,0) = 1.; A(0, Np1-1) = 1.; A(Np1-1, 0) = -2.*dt/6.; A(Np1-1, 1) = -1.*dt/6.; A(Np1-1, Np1-2) = 1*dt/6.; A(Np1-1, Np1-1) = 2*dt/6.; the red lines will make the matrix looks like // 6 6 // 1 4 1 // 1 4 1 // A = ... // // 1 4 1 // -2 *-1* *1* 2 Is the comment correct or the code correct? ALPS 2.0.1 released

Dear ALPS users, ALPS 2.0.1 has been released. This is the version included with the ALPS paper: B. Bauer et al., J. Stat. Mech. (2011) P05001, which is available at : http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/1742-5468/2011/05/P05001 .Besides references to this paper, this release contains many minor bug fixes. How does python co-work with C++ in ALPS?

Dear ALPS developers, It can be found that lots of ALPS tutorials are written by python codes and the ALPS essentially written by C++. As far as I know， python can co-work with C++ by SWIG or Cpython. But It seem that ALPS does not use such two tools. I want to know: How does python co-work with C++ in ALPS? Regards, Bo Li

Archlinux compilation errors

ALPS 2.1.0 has been released

ALPS installation in ubuntu 12.04

Hi, I want to install ALPS package in the Ubuntu distribution 12.04: Precise Pangoline. I can find instructions only for the Karmic, Lucid and Maverick in the website ( http://alps.comp-phys.org/mediawiki/index.php/Download_and_install_ALPS_2) . Could you tell me what I should for the version I am using and also if there is any .deb package file? worm generated data - why so huge?

Dear ALPS developers, I am running worm simulations for many different parameter sets on cluster. The problem I am having is filesystem bandwidth limitation, probably mostly because other users also use the system. What I have found out when running simulation is the generated output data is quite big. I generated 72MB of data for one simulation with aprox. 20 tasks (worm simulation, 1000000 sweeps, I change t in Hubbard model from [0.03 - 0.25]). I have many different simulations, quickly generating 10GB+ of data. I am not using --write-xml option. My question is, why is the output so big? From what I understand, the only thing needed is to store all observables with their errors (+ checkpoint data). Is there any way to: minimize the output generated (so I don't contribute to bandwidth limitations of cluster) or copy only data that I need (namely averages) to my laptop? I would like to work on data not connected to cluster and copying many GBs of files seems a waste (+ is really slow on the system). Regards, Žiga Osolin

time-dependent solvers, spin-boson Hamiltonian

My question is addressed to the developers: do you plan to implement time-dependent solvers and spin-boson/Holstein-Peierls Hamiltonian, which in typical applications requires a time-dependent solver? Adrian Feiguin's lecture gives a code for time-dependent DMRG. Is it in ALPS?
