Hello Ian,
The ALPS model library supports defining random parameters with the following functions that can be used in your parameter file:
random()
gaussian_random()
normal_random()
gaussian_random(0,2)
Attached you find also an example using the DISORDERSEED to have different random seeds.
The example is using the dmrg implementation of the mps_optim code.
