Dear all
This is another friendly reminder for our LIFE@ETH meeting tomorrow. Let's meet in the aquarium at 14h.
Cheers
Philipp
Dear all,
for the LIFE@ETH meeting tomorrow I would suggest that we do not use the slot for another roundtable update.
Rather, as discussed last week, one of the major goals has to be the finalisation of the Study Proposal. Hence I would suggest that Chapter Captains are in charge of reaching out to other Team members as needed to organize some of the remaining discussions tomorrow afternoon. Note that this might also apply to across-chapter discussions. The meeting room is reserved and we can also go down to the COPL offices in case we need to spread out more. So, please be pro-active and organize what is needed to move things forward.
Also, could I please get from all Chapter Captains a short heads-up, when the first draft of their chapters is done, so that we can start with cross-reading and homogenizing? I know that some of you are already done, but I want to make sure I have the full picture. Very soon we can then go back to the work-packages and get them organized and prioritized - which is one of the main things for the preparation of the study.
Thanks Sascha
PS: I attach - FYI - the Letter of Intent from Beyond Gravity. Please do not share further, but it is an interesting read ;)

Dear Sascha, dear all, I have a couple of questions, as I don’t know if I understand correctly what you propose.
* Should we first meet at 14:00, as usual, to discuss how to organise ourselves together, or should we organise our meetings with the people involved in our chapters for this afternoon to start directly at 14:00? * The heads up about the chapter draft readiness: do you want it before we discuss each chapter with the others or after? Basically, I am missing out on how we will work this afternoon. Do we have a meeting at the beginning to discuss what we plan to do and at the end to communicate the results and the estimated remaining time, or we meet only at the end, or no group meeting at all and we will send you the info via e-mail after we finish the chapter internal discussions?
@Philipp, Felix: can we meet this afternoon to discuss the status of the chapter? I am doing some diagrams to ease the discussion and help us spot missing things.
Best, Andrea

Let me rephrase: - the is no general meeting and no roundtable - we should use the slot to work on remaining loose ends of the study proposal - if this requires discussions amongst team members, Chapter Captains are in charge to organize - heads-up when chapter has reached a first level of completeness so that it can be reviewed should be send whenever it is ready (does not have to be today)

If anyone needs me for content that was "mine" (I guess mostly in Chapters 2 and 1B/6) or is interested in feedback on other parts let me know and I'll join you.
Otherwise I'll be working on other LIFE related loose ends in that slot.

PS: there is a new batch of LIFE stickers available

Hi all, To update on the status of Chapter 5: As stated in previous meetings, I believe it is pretty much ready for review. There are only a couple of points which would be good to discuss with those involved, namely:
1) Preliminary optical requirements, as I know that the "stability" numbers have fluctuated in the past few weeks. 2) Identifying concrete TRLs for each technology (or an equivalent that we think is helpful) 3) Identifying exactly what we want to show in that performance plot I have shown in the past. Does it make sense to tie in the null depth errors (i.e contrast limits) into the sensitivity values, or is it fine to just flag them? The former is difficult to tie in with LIFEsim, and so a discussion on what is most useful to plot should be had.
Point 1) is coupled with Chapter 4 and hence could be covered by a review (as it's just a number and doesn't influence any text). The latter two should be looked at, but I don't think it will take long. If you have ideas or wish to discuss this afternoon, please let me know.
