Dear Renato

Here is the info about our mini-workshop on the IBM quantum computer. Anyone can join, but for people that want to join for dinner I would need to know by Tuesday afternoon (also whether vegetarian/special restrictions). Thanks!

Best,
Titus

Dear Quantum Computerists

We are looking forward to welcoming you at University of Zurich in two weeks for our IBM quantum computing workshop. We would like to give you some more info about how May 16/17 will look like. We would like to make this event a little like an “un-conference”, i.e., only give a rough structure and rely on your creative input to fill the time.

Everything will take place on the Irchel Campus of the University of Zurich, we have booked the room Y34 J-01 (i.e, in building Y34) from Thu 10am to Fri 5pm. The one fixed thing is a talk by Ivano Tavernelli from IBM Zürich, on Friday 10 am. Around that we propose the following program:

Thu, May 16

10.30-11.00 coffee chat
11.00-12.30 1st joint discussion session
12.30-14.00 lunch
14.00-15.30 2nd joint discussion session
15.30-16.00 coffee break
16.00-18.00 individual discussion/meeting session

19.00 dinner for all at Restaurant “Haus zum Rüden”, center of Zurich (we go there by tram)

Fri, May 17

9.30-10.00 coffee chat
10.00-11.30 talk by Ivano Tavernelli +related discussion
11.30-12.30 3rd joint discussion session
12.30-14.00 lunch
14.00 onwards individual discussion/meeting session

of course, we are open and flexible to adjust this.

To fill the discussion times, please prepare:
  • a short talk (15 mins) about things that you already did on the IBM quantum computers, probably best done with slides; it is encouraged to present intermediate and unpublished results, any material that can inspire discussions is welcome
  • an idea of a future project that you want to pursue and we can discuss how to implement it etc.

There will be blackboards in the room.

Let us know if you have any questions or ideas for the meeting.

Best regards
Kenny and Titus
