Hi all,

Tomorrow Alexander Jürgens will tell us about his semester thesis "Online Quantum Process Tomography for Orthogonal Random Unitary Channels". See below for the abstract. The talk will take place at 2pm in HCI J 6

In this talk we will be discussing different approaches to quantum process tomography. We will obtain an insight into conventional QPT and into quantum learning theory. With the goal of introducing bias into the learning process, we study the characterization of random unitary channels and introduce their subclass of orthogonal random unitary channels. We analyse their properties and come up with an online learning scheme to characterize them and show its feasibility both in silicio and by implementing it on hardware. There we compare them as noise models for superconducting circuits to the industry standard of pauli twirling models.
