Title: Decomposing arbitrary quantum channels into elementary gates using Mathematica
Abstract: The decomposition of quantum operation provides a bridge between abstract quantum operations such as unitary evolution, isometry, POVM etc. and elementary operations that can be directly implemented on quantum hardware. In this project, we add a channel decomposition method into the Mathematica package UniversalQCompiler. It decomposes arbitrary quantum channel into CNOT, single qubit rotation, measurement and classical control. The decomposed gate sequence has a close-to-optimal CNOT count and requires fewer qubits compared to the method without measurement and classical feedforward.
