Dear QSIT member,

The ETH and EPFL student chapters of OSA (Optical Society of America) are jointly organizing the 13th iteration of the IONS (International OSA Network of Students) conference in Europe. The conference attracts PhD students and interested Master students in optics from all over the world to discuss their research and is generously supported by QSIT. Our invited speakers are Prof. P. Russell (Max Planck Institute, Erlangen) and Prof. J. Tisch (Imperial College London). There will be a QSIT sessions where you can present your research. The conference takes place Jan 9 -12 2013 at ETH and EPFL. The first day is at ETH, the second day at EPFL. The social day will be organized in Zurich and includes a city tour, conference lunch and an excursion to a chocolate factory. You can find more information about the conference here:

The professional development session is open to all PhD students and does not require registration. Jean-luc Doumont will talk about "How to work efficiently during your PhD" and it takes place on Jan, 10 at ETH at 13:00-14:30.
